VIA-2291 has been studied in three Phase 2 clinical trials with novel study designs aimed at providing evidence supporting the effect of VIA-2291 in reducing biomarkers of inflammation relevant to the progression of atherosclerotic plaque. These trials have been designed to generate data that provide a link to the ultimate goal of demonstrating VIA-2291’s efficacy in reducing MACE including heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular diseases.
